HISTORY
History of Janie Color Works
1949-1958
After World War II, Taiwan's industrial development began, leading to a large demand for imported raw materials. Shih Rong Trading Company was established in Tainan City, representing the colorants and rubber products of Sanyo Color Works Co., Ltd. from Japan.
1958-1960
In May, Janie Color Works Ltd. was established in collaboration with Sanyo Color Works Co., Ltd. from Japan to begin the production of organic pigments, making it the first organic pigment manufacturer in Taiwan.
1961-1970
The application of organic pigments in the industrial sector has expanded, with the formulation and processing of pigments serving various industrial purposes. Janie Color Works Ltd. has begun to establish a clear profile in both synthetic pigments and processed pigments. The company has gradually increased its product offerings to include water-based pigments for printing, latex, and plastic coatings, as well as color masterbatches for plastics and color pastes for rubber.
1971-1980
Due to the government's promotion of the Ten Major Construction Projects in the 1970s, the first highway began construction in 1971 and was completed in 1978. Janie Color Works Ltd. is located next to the Tainan interchange of the highway, and as a result of land acquisition for the highway, the company had to change the location of its walls, gates, and some buildings. This phase experienced significant construction, energy crises, and environmental trends, which led to changes in buildings, facilities, product offerings, and the company's organization.
1981-1990
A foreign sales department was established, collaborating with Sanyo Color Company to begin export trade operations and targeting customers in the Southeast Asian market. As environmental issues gained attention, in July, the Taiwan Dyestuff and Pigment Industry Association organized a visit to Japan, led by Chairman Chiu Tsung-Ming. The delegation visited dye and pigment factories, research institutions, and wastewater treatment facilities in Japan.
1991-2000
During this period, in response to factors such as labor, environmental protection, and management rationalization, active reforms were undertaken to improve the environment and enhance information technology. To upgrade factory facilities, the capital was increased to NT$160 million.
2001-2010
With changes in cross-strait relations, Taiwanese businesses moved overseas to set up factories, and Janie Color Works actively expanded overseas opportunities. On one hand, Janie Color Works had multiple overseas agents selling to Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. On the other hand, as globalization progressed, it established overseas factories and customer services, including Janie Color Works in Dongguan (Guangdong Province, China) and Janie Color Works in Vietnam (Binh Duong Province, Vietnam).
2011-2020
The newly constructed synthetic factory of Janie Color Works in Taiwan began operations, in alignment with the Tainan City River Flood Control and Improvement Project, which included the renovation of wastewater treatment facilities and surrounding walls. An external warehouse labeled MIT was also established.
2021-2030
Having safely navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has accumulated development capabilities and strengthened its cooperation with domestic and international clients.
